Roberto Marchesini took pencil in hand and went back to his roots to make a difference once again, in the design of high performance motorcycle wheels. He was doing this in collaboration with Fabio Nardin, an acknowledged expert in the field of metal working to create new products with style and innovation.

This effective collaboration of two acknowledged experts, combined with investment in

the most advanced and sophisticated technologies gave birth to MFR WHEELS.

These new products were immediately chosen by Yamaha Motor Racing, both by its Factory Team - with the defending World Champion Jorge Lorenzo - and by the satellite Team Monster Yamaha Tech 3. MFR WHEELS were also chosen by Gresini Racing Team, as the Moto 2 defending World Champion, and by Tenerife 40 Pons Team, the Nieto G22 Racing Team, by QMMF Racing Team Qatar, by Moriwaky Engineering and many more.

Expertise in materials and techniques, together with technical support on the race trackthat is focused on specific needs and quick, reliable and winning solutions, has lead Roberto Marchesini's MFR to tackle new challenges in the worldwide MotoGP, Moto2 and Superbike in 2011.

Can perfection be perfected ?

For MFR, the answer is yes. Dedication to technical research and development supported by the most sophisticated design, manufacturing and testing technologies on specially built test benches have made MFR wheels the utmost expression of technical perfection both for racing and road sport bikes.
The ideal weight. Reduced flywheel mass using innovative pockets on the rim to lighten the wheel. High sideways stiffness. Maximum torsion resistance. No rim bending.

Minimum weight, perfect rigidity

MFR produced a high-tech wheel which has no competition.

The classic choice of five spokes for the best weight-performance compromise allows for incremental rigidity in radial, torsion and flexural stress, assuring increased rider confidence on comer entrance and giving highly improved damping on rough and bumpy surfaces.

The insertion of lightening pockets in the rim groove, right at the coincidence of the coupler of the spokes, allowed for considerable reduction in the weight of the flywheel mass of the wheel. This noticeably enhanced the drivability of a motorcycle when in the sudden changes of direction. This design element was both complex and precise.

Assembling components

The details that complete MFR wheels are seen in the use of high quality materials, such as 7075 T6 and titanium alloys, and with the best hard oxide superficial treatment. MFR can also provide on demand aluminium alloy sprockets, treated in hard oxide and in the desired toothing size.

MFR wheels are inspected during several tests which testify to their degree of reliability. MFR is equipped with test benches which can test wheels according to safety standards as required both by international regulations and by specific motorcycle companies.

MFR's testing simulates the worst stresses suffered by a wheel during the GP. Test drivers and official drivers tested MFR wheels on the track: the positive results that emerged by their tests are confirmation of the product's excellence.

For competition wheels. which undergo a high degree of stress during acceleration and breaking. MFR brilliantly solved the problem of rotation of the tire through the introduction of a special compound, applied exclusively on the bead seat retention area.

Every single MFR wheel is engraved with a serial number indicating the production lot, the tests done and the type of use. A further way of guaranteeing the product.

MFR introduced a very resistant anodic oxidation treatment for magnesium alloy wheels. Aluminium alloy wheels are treated through anodic oxidation which provides great corrosion resistance.

Different colors can be applied on demand, both through anodic oxidation and through painting; moreover aluminium alloy wheels can be processed with a whole hard oxide surfacing treatment.
